Hi, I’m Len, it’s so lovely to meet you. When I think about how I started photographing weddings, it’s really the culmination of all my life experiences, and training. You see, I’m a wee bit of an introvert, always have been, but have had a creative streak a mile long, it was one of the things that had been so, so personal and I didn’t really share it with anyone. So much so, that when I applied to study design (and may have gotten a scholarship, but that’s totally a not-so-humble brag, but even so much later, I feel so fortunate that they saw something in my drawings & photographs to take a chance on me), my friends & family were all “wait, what? HOW?”

I’d always loved photography, but didn’t think it was something I could do, it seemed so far removed from my life, design was something that seemed… more attainable, in a way? I don’t know if that makes sense, but sometimes you think things are a pipe-dream and you kind of try to at least be adjacent to that.

Now, after all that, you might be thinking, so, what does you having to be an introvert have to do with the whole photography thing? And what it is, is everything. The way that I get around and document people’s lives is part people watching, part blending in, treading gently, and making my approach primarily journalistic, and something I truly love.

The reason for weddings in particular is that creative streak. I don’t view them as a singular event, but an encapsulation of a particular period in your lives, they should reflect the personalities and friendships that surround you, when you look through my work, I hope that you feel those relationships, and see not only a couple’s wedding, but the reflections of those interactions and this moment in their lives.
